My son's dad was addicted to meth probably for a really long time before I ever even met him. The first few times we hung out there everyone of our "Friends" sat in a room smoking out of a light bulb. I was unsure of what they were doing, and they would always ask if I wanted to try it. I guess my will power is better than most because even to this day I have not even tried it once.

I sat back and watched them all spiral downward, into a darkness... into a darkness so deep some of them still have not returned. I watched my friend of 280 pounds sink down into a skeleton of his former self weighing in at maybe 110 pounds now, and at 6 foot 4, that is soooo unhealty. I watched his wife become twitchy about everything, moving around the room from seat to seat all of the time, never sitting still, and finally ended their relationship when she started sleeping around with other guys for meth. Then she had their baby a few months later, and never ever knew she was pregnant. By the grace of god the baby girl was healthy. My other male friend ended up trying to kill himself numbers upon numbers of times. My sons dad got so bad he would sit in the mirror for hours picking hairs from his body, or decorating his beard with rubber bands, taking them out and putting them back in, over and over again. When finally he decided that he hated it all and ripped the entire beard from his face. He had this huge scab on his chin for weeks. He probably could have used stitches but he wouldn't let me take him in. But that's not even the worst part. He kept smoking that night. The more and more meth he did the more outlandish he became, Crazy to me. He made the hair he had ripped off into a pet. Decorated it with ear rings, and more rubber bands and paper clips, and he worked on it for hours. Then in a fit of rage, (God only knows what set him off) he started shouting at the object and calling it names. Yelling " You don't tell me what to do!!!" he threw it across the room, and then felt bad for doing it. He had an argument with the object several times before he finally passed out that night. And when he woke up 2 days later he had no clue what had happened to his face, or anything. Because of him we were raided twice, because they thought that we had a meth lab. I took him to court and got full custody of our son. He was only allowed supervised visits with our son for a long time. 1 hour per day on sat and sun. He couldn't even take our son to the bathroom, or into a room to have time with just him. He had to be watched and my son's dad finally got off the meth (from what I know ) I haven't seen any major or minor warning signs. Thank god, I have never told him. but I am really proud of him for getting over this hump without any professional help. But he had to lose facial hair, sleep, friends, family, money, possessions, got into trouble with the law, cars, places to live, friends who didn't just leave but died, me, and most of all his son. Before he even tried to stop.

I have seen and felt the pain first hand of meth. and if you haven't tried it DON'T and if you have seek out help.
