I started using meth at the age of 15, at which point my grades in school dropped from a B or C range to all F's. Eventually I dropped out of school. I had a great smile, due to braces in which I still had on when I started. The constant grinding of my teeth due to meth use caused me to remove my braces at my house with very crude tools, removing the top coat of enamel, exposing nerves, this was the beginning of my tooth decay which has not since stopped. I had sold off everything I owned to further my use of the drug, over a course of seven years I lost several jobs, due to VIOLENT flares of my mood and attitude to others, I lost my home, contact with certain family members in which I'm still to this day trying to regain contact with, I have been involved in police raids, in which the police were "tipped off" about the use of the drug in my home. At the lowest point of my prolonged use of meth, I had a 12 gauge shotgun loaded and pointed under my chin, the only thoughts that stopped me from actually pulling the trigger were the thought of my father walking into the house and seeing my body on the floor and brains all over the room, and my daughter growing up wondering where her father is... I dropped the gun and it went off through my bedroom floor and into my neighbors bed (pillow) this caused the police to be called, obviously, and luckily for me no one was home downstairs when the gun went off. so I got 180 days in the Denver county jail, this was about two years ago, the jail time, while I was in jail I lost parental rights to my daughter. also to meth, while i was in jail i obtained my G.E.D. since being out of jail, I have enrolled in college and doing quite well, have not done meth for about 8 months and plan to never touch it again. If my story can help someone think twice and put that pipe or needle or straw or however you do it down, then in my eyes I've done something positive.
